Sabarimala authorities have decided to introduce an innovative e-queue system in Sabarimala for devotees of Lord Ayyappa, during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season that begins on November 17. Under this system, devotees can make bookings online and ensure their place in a separate queue.
Pilgrims who register on the Kerala Police website need not wait for hours for the darshan at the Ayyappa shrine during the annual pilgrimage season.
To begin with, devotees will have to do their online booking at the Kerala police website
Devotees who make the bookings will have to present identify proof to be allowed into the separate queue. To avoid inconvenience, they will also be given a time when they can join a batch of pilgrims.
As of now, devotees, including senior citizens and children, have to stand in queues for 12 to 14 hours to have darshan, after trekking two hillocks-Neelimala and Apachimedu. Authorities believe that the e-queue system will help avoid this to a large extent.
Millions of pilgrims, the majority of them from the South Indian states, trek to the hill shrine every year to have the darshan of Lord Ayyappa.
The number of pilgrims has been going up every year, stretching the infrastructure of the area to the very limits.
As per the proposed system, pilgrims who register on the website will have to reach the Valiya Nadappanthal at the time allotted to them. They will be permitted to enter the general queue for darshan at the Lower Tirumuttom, bypassing the long queue along the trekking path-Valiya Nadappanthal stretch.

Select the month and see the availability for that day. If there is availability on that day, click on the day. You will need to provide details such us Name,Age, address and photo identity card you are carrying (passport,driving liecense, ect..). U will also have to upload your photo which should be within 30kb. Once all the details are saved, please take a print out. There is a separate queue near 18 steps at the sannidhi with the board ‘Virtual Booking Queue’. You can get into that queue and the policeman will verify the details for to proceed further.

You walk upto Marakootam and from there you walk to Nadapandhal, Nadapandhal has a seperate que for Online bookings and we reach straight to the steps just below 18 steps.
In that que you have time only to open the PIN KETTU (Back Pouch of Erumdi) to take the coconut for offering below 18 steps.
Its super cool, and people have been trained to handle online bookings, please don;t forget to take your ID proof along with you for the jouney.

HOW TO COMPRESS A PICTURE INTO 30KB:
1.RIGHT CLICK THE MOUSE BY KEEPING ON THE PICTURE .AN pop up MENU APPEAR.
2.on that menu,there will be an option “OPEN WITH “click on “OPEN WITH”,on that click “office picture manager .
3.now your photo will opened with office picture manager.
4.on that click “EDIT”[on the top]option.
5.on that they will be an option compression.
click on that,it will shows four options like
i.dont compress
ii.—–
iii.——-
iv.compress for e-mail.—-click this option”COMPRESS FOR EMAIL”.
THEN U R IMAGE WILL REDUCE BELOW 30.KB. IT WILL SHOW ORIGINAL SIZE AND COMPRESSED SIZE BELOW THAT MENU

This Q-booking system is very helpful for the devotees.The booking process is also very simple.Anybody having doubts can contact me on my No: 09446 390 593.The Software needs some more provisions especially Edit button for updating the details later on.The bulk booking starts for 8 persons and for lesser no. of people we have to do the Normal booking which is a tedious process.Also the size of the Photo limited to only 30KB creates problems while uploading.

Just for the information of devotees. Please make sure that your JPEG photo size should be less than 30 KB. You can compress it and upload. Else if the photo is larger than 30 KB you will get a message ” There is an error”.

don’t worry. system is good. I went in this system on 18.11.11 at 5.00 p.m. they allowed us directly to the steps before the holy 18 steps. as on now the que is empty. But, I think later on this will be a success and get crowded like Rs.300 que in Tirupati. Please note
1. carry the original Id as mentioned in the coupon.
2. only the persons with the slip can enter.
3. suppose 2 persons out of 8 persons in a group has no ticket they will be not allowed entry, this happened for my 11 years old son.

The system requires further development. It is to be made more user friendly. The requirements are to be listed and shown before we start efforts to get the page, which is worse than irctc to get. after registering we should be given chance to call our registered page and make corrections like adding or deleting no. of persons. there should be option to take print out afterwards also. now is the system is not at all user friendly. the system is developed by unskilled professionals.

Congratulations for implementing new technology @ sabarimala for devotees. Let me know how a illiterated devotee can use this. Many poor, illiterated devotees for other states came for holy darsan with one year preparations. The are not able to do this type of booking facility. because the cant chart a proper timing due to heavy traffic, and other matters. Next year u can introduce bar code system @ pampa like Thirupathy model. When u reach pampa, u can fix a right time for darsan. and can wait Pampa to adjust darsan time. Wish u all thebest. The new e-queue system is a great initiative to ease the congestion at the Sabarimala Shrine. I tried using the e-queue system, but unfortunately could not get the desired slot. As this project is in its initial stages, I believe that there would be lot of changes to it. Based on my experience using the system, I would like to suggest a couple of things:
1. It is timing out too quickly.
2. A Cancel Booking tab can be added. For example: If some one is not going to use the slot which he had booked for the intended date or time, there should be an option to cancel the same. The cancelled slots can again be made available, so that it can be useful to some other devotee.

Please note the following points when you think of improving thheis system:
- Edit function is missing. When you enter a pilgrim’s details, you cannot edit the details.
- Bulk booking. Despite of bulk booking option selected, still you need add details of each and every individual
- No time line. When you add the first pilgrim’s details, then if u try adding the next pilgrim’s after few mintues then you may not be able to add the deails or save the earlier details.
